There is something extraordinary happening in the world. Over the last 20 years, the internet and smart phones accelerated innovation exponentially and changed the world as we know it. Now the third wave, the makers revolution has begun. Open hardware and easy access to tools are going to improve cities, homes, and our approach to health and food production. Most of these advances will emerge from companies that don't exist today--from teams of young entrepreneurs known as startups.
The CityOS internship program unites developers, engineers, makers, hackers, designers, and beyond. The world's foremost innovators will join the local community to build successful local startups that use technology to solve real city problems.
This 3-day event kicks off in Mostar with a conference followed by Zero-to-Hero workshops and closes with a hackathon focused around smart cities, IoT, drones, ponics, and robotics. By the end, participants will have built their first functional apps and devices.
The CityOS conference brings the most knowledgable speakers together to share their expertise and discuss the latest technologies, best practices, and success stories of smart cities, IoT, drones, robotics and ponics implementations around the world. Speakers are mostly practitioners, young people, startup founders, and experts in the modern world of smart city IoT.
We are excited to welcome Ceco Gakovic as the keynote speaker at this year's conference.
Ceco's inspiration, vision, and ingenuity is exactly the kind of spirit this conference is all about. His words will truly be an inspiration to young aspiring makers, engineers, and developers.
The workshops are conducted as intensive, 'Zero to Hero' bootcamps - where in 1 day attendees can learn everything from the basics all the way to building a fully functional smart city application. Workshops will feature the latest and coolest future tech from autonomous drones and hydroponics, to robotics and building your own IoT devices.
On the weekend, there will be a hackathon, where developers, engineers, makers, architects, UI/UX designers and others apply everything they learned and join forces to build the best smart city solutions for their challenges using IoT and robotics technology. The hackathon results in multiple functional usable apps and devices. Team projects are presented on Sunday and the winners will receive startup shared space, maker labs, coaches, equipment, and other things needed for their success. During the hackathon, we provide mentors, a hardware lab, as well as food, drinks and everything else needed by participants.
The hackathon winners will enter our 3-month internship program, where they will receive all the resources and mentoring necessary to turn their prototypes into real functional products.
