Since SketchUp does not have native export options of models into .STL files, you will need to use another software in order to do this.

I would recommend using MeshLab, an open-source 3D mesh processing system, which you can download here http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/

After installing, open your model in SketchUp and go to File -> Export -> 3D model. This way you have exported your model into a collada file format (.dae).

Next, open the .dae file in MeshLab. Here you can edit your model if needed (there are various tutorials on different options available in MeshLab, such as checking if your model is watertight and etc.).

When you are done with editing, save your new model as .STL file.

Now you can open it in almost every 3D printing software.
