Ed is a qualified Urban Designer and Landscape Architect. Before joining Broadway Malyan, he worked as a landscape architect in the UK and Australia, and has experience in both the public and private sectors. Ed joined Broadway Malyan as a masterplanner in 2002 and was invited to join the board in 2010.
Based in Singapore, Ed has responsibility for growing Broadway Malyan’s business in Asia. A talented and creative designer, he has worked on major development projects across the region such as Nanjing New Town in China and Bandar Malaysia, a mixed-use masterplan in Kuala Lumpur. While Ed’s specialism is strategic urban design and planning, he has experience of working on projects from the master planning through to construction stages.
Ed’s passion lies in the creation of sustainable places, whether they are new cities and towns or the regeneration of existing urban districts. His background in landscape architecture influences his masterplanning, with a desire to retain and enhance landscape features a key part of his approach. Integration with transport hubs and the utilization of the latest green technologies also inform his design philosophy.
Ed regularly speaks at conferences on urban design and related topics such as sustainable development, urban-branding and place-making.
